From Marrakech, December 31, 2024 – January 7, 2025
“La Petit Dakar” will be an unforgettable journey—a blend of adventure and solidarity, bringing back the joy and magic of the first legendary “Dakar” races, the true, original ones in Africa, before sponsorship and the media circus transformed them.
This event’s spirit is both pioneering and bohemian, and the destination is a part of Morocco that has largely escaped the mainstream’s overreach of progress and mass tourism. Open to both two- and four-wheel vehicles, with rentals available locally (some seats on the organization’s 4x4s are available), the route is accessible for all types of vehicles, with optional off-road stretches for all-terrain vehicles.
The journey begins on December 31 with an unforgettable New Year’s Eve dinner in Marrakech, followed by a New Year’s Day departure from Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, heading towards the Tizi’n Test Pass. Built by French engineers in the 1920s, this mountain pass reaches over 2,000 meters above sea level, winding through rocky desert terrain, stunning mountain landscapes, lush valleys, and traditional Berber villages. This wild and remote area, further devastated by a powerful earthquake in September 2023, is where, throughout our journey, we will deliver a message of friendship and tangible aid.
