The project, submitted by Moninga ODV to the "Bando Cooperazione Internazionale 2023" promoted by Fondazione di Modena, aims to install a photovoltaic system at the Libota Lisantu Health Center in the Masina district of Kinshasa (D.R. Congo) to ensure energy self-sufficiency and continuity of care. Bambini nel Deserto, as a partner with experience in photovoltaic projects in Africa, will support the design and evaluation alongside the lead organization. The planned system is a stand-alone 10.8 kW plant with 15 kW battery storage. Local management will be entrusted to Comunità Amore e Libertà. The project aims to improve healthcare services, reduce environmental impact, and lower operating costs. An awareness campaign on sustainable development will be directed at young people in Modena. The project's monitoring mission will be carried out jointly by Bambini nel Deserto and the lead organization in autumn 2025.

Project Beneficiary

Direct beneficiaries of this project are the more than 1,000 children of the Amore e Libertà school and orphanage, as well as the school staff and other personnel, around 30 people, who have access to free healthcare. Additionally, the project benefits over 100,000 residents of the Masina III district, who regularly access the Health Center at subsidized prices.
