Tigenziwine

Thanks to the upcoming edition of the Petite Dakar, scheduled from January 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, the community of Tigenziwine, in Morocco, will finally have access to sustainable water supply. After the 2023 earthquake, families and small farmers in the area urgently need support to irrigate their fields and revive olive production, one of the main crops in the territory. The project involves the installation of a photovoltaic system to power a submersible pump that has already been purchased, ensuring clean water, reducing costs, and supporting local economic development. Every kilometer traveled by participants in the Petite Dakar becomes a concrete act of solidarity, combining adventure and real help for those who need it most.

Local Partners

The project is promoted by the Association de Développement Economique et Social Tignziouin, collaborating with Bambini nel Deserto to ensure the correct technical and social implementation of the intervention.

Beneficiaries

The project will involve over 200 people, including families and small farmers, improving crop management and the food security of the community.

Main Actions

The main actions planned in the project include:

  1. Technical analysis of the well and site;
  2. Design of the solar pumping system;
  3. Purchase and transport of materials (solar panels, pumps, inverters, and pipes);
  4. Installation and testing of the system;
  5. Training of farmers and local staff;
  6. Monitoring efficiency and evaluating economic and social impact.

Located in a mountainous and semi-arid area, Amizmiz faces limited water resources and infrastructure damaged by the earthquake. This concrete intervention contributes to sustainable reconstruction, promoting a safer and more prosperous future for the community.
