Roots in the Desert

Some choices change lives—they break patterns and embrace the unknown. Riccardo De Biase, known as Riccardo Yahia, made such a choice in 2008 when he left Italy for the desert of Mauritania. In a place many consider harsh, he found a home, a refuge, and deep roots.
