Thanks to the participants of the upcoming edition of the Petite Dakar, scheduled from January 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, the community of Tigenziwine in Morocco will finally have access to sustainable water resources.
After the 2023 earthquake, families and small farmers in the area urgently need support to irrigate their fields and revive the olive production, one of the main crops of the region.
The project, promoted by the Association de Développement Economique et Social Tignziouin, involves the installation of a photovoltaic system to power a submersible pump already purchased, ensuring clean water, reducing costs, and supporting local economic development. In this way, over 200 beneficiaries will be able to improve crop management and strengthen the community’s food security.
The main project actions include:
- Technical analysis of the well and the site;
- Design of the solar pumping system;
- Purchase and transport of materials (solar panels, pumps, inverters, and pipes);
- Installation and commissioning;
- Training of farmers and staff;
- Monitoring efficiency and evaluating the economic and social impact.
Located in a mountainous and semi-arid area, Amizmiz faces limited water resources and infrastructure damaged by the earthquake. This concrete intervention contributes to sustainable reconstruction, promoting a safer and more prosperous future for the community.
Every kilometer traveled by Petite Dakar participants becomes a tangible act of solidarity, combining adventure with real support for those who need it most.
