Promoting Women's Empowerment in Disadvantaged Communities through the Creation of Women's Cooperatives and Financial Support via Group Microcredit
Program Description: In recent years, we have successfully initiated a group microcredit program that has led to the creation of over 50 women's cooperatives in various disadvantaged communities. This program focuses on three main sectors: agricultural, textile, and commercial activities.
- Agricultural Activities: Women involved in agricultural cooperatives receive financial support for purchasing seeds, farming tools, and fertilizers. This has improved local food production and market access, reducing dependence on food aid.
- Textile Activities: Textile cooperatives have been established to promote traditional crafts and textile production. Women receive funding for purchasing materials and tools for weaving, sewing, and creating traditional textile products.
- Commercial Activities: Commercial cooperatives aim to promote small businesses and local trade. Women receive microcredits to start small shops, sell local products, and promote female entrepreneurship.
Results and Impact: The group microcredit program by Bambini nel Deserto has had a profound impact on the lives of the women involved.
