Garage Italia: A Winning Professional Training Project in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
In the heart of Ouagadougou, the vibrant capital of Burkina Faso, lies a project that has changed the prospects of young aspiring mechanics.Garage Italia, a professional training school in mechanics, has become one of the projects dearest to us at Bambini nel Deserto. Since its inception in 2014, this school has opened doors of opportunity for numerous young people, offering a viable alternative to migration and contributing to the development of the local community. The beating heart of the project is the training of young talents in the field of motorcycle mechanics. Each course welcomes an average of 10 young people, and at the end of each course, on average, 7 of them find work in the workshops scattered around the city.This extraordinary result is testimony to the commitment and quality of the education offered at Garage Italia. The project is not only a training school, but also represents a concrete response to the growing problem of migration.
By offering practical skills and job opportunities, Garage Italia is committed to providing students with a sustainable future directly in their community.This vision aligned with the desire of many young people to stay and contribute to their country rather than seek opportunities elsewhere.
