The well-known African proverb “Two paths never cross by chance” found life and meaning in an event in Rome which led to the discovery of Lamine Ka, a talented Senegalese street food chef, famous in the San Lorenzo district. Lamine Ka, an expert in the Senegalese culinary art, was invited to share his mastery during that special event, starting not only a delicious gastronomic journey but also a deep bond. From this authentic connection a precious collaboration arose, manifested in a fundraiser promoted by the friends of “Burkina Kamba”.

The village of Keur Macoumba Peul, in the Senegalese hinterland, was the recipient of this courageous initiative. The difficult living conditions of this community, marked by poverty and the lack of fundamental resources, make the well project even more vital.

The implementation of the well was in response to a critical need for sustainable water supply. Thanks to the funds raised, it was possible to install a submersible pump powered by photovoltaic panels, offering an energy alternative and guaranteeing the constant availability of water, promising better days for this community.
