The project involved the establishment of a tailoring center aimed at vocational training and promoting entrepreneurship for the benefit of 20 women from the village of Bagadadji through a 2-month educational program: 6 weeks of sewing and tailoring training led by a Senegalese trainer, 2 weeks of sewing and tailoring training led by an Italian trainer, and 1 week dedicated to natural fabric dyeing.
These activities, coupled with the women's integration into a network of micro-enterprises, helped generate employment opportunities that counteract forced marriages, migration, and prostitution—often the only alternatives for poorer girls. The production of clothing and accessories, sold in Senegal and Italy, enables the project to become self-sustaining over time.
