A Bakery for the Rebirth of Agadir
In the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, there is a small village called Agadir (📍 30.995850, -8.341806), a place where life has always flowed in harmony with the harsh and fascinating nature of these lands.
In September 2023, a devastating earthquake shattered the fragile balance of the valley, leaving behind rubble, difficulties in accessing basic goods, and a local economy on its knees.
Yet, in the midst of such destruction, a seed of hope emerged: a cooperative of 19 women who, with courage and determination, brought a small bakery to life.
With their hands, these women produce bread and pastries every day, feeding not only Agadir but also the neighboring villages, offering essential food support at a time when everything seemed lost.
Today, this cooperative has a dream:
to expand production in order to bring their bread and pastries throughout the valley, while generating a secure and dignified income for themselves and their families.
Supporting this project means:
- Ensuring fresh bread for hundreds of people in the valley, in villages that struggle to access even the simplest goods.
- Making 17 extraordinary women economically independent, strengthening the social fabric and giving the entire community a new outlook on the future.
- Building local resilience through a tangible, supportive, and sustainable activity.
To make this dream come true, €2.700 are needed, to be used for the purchase, transportation, and installation of the following essential materials in Agadir:
- 1 professional gas oven to increase production capacity,
- 1 industrial dough mixer to optimize daily work,
- Laboratory equipment (workbenches, trays, professional tools) to ensure quality and hygiene in production.
With your help, the scent of fresh bread can continue to spread through the Atlas Mountains as a concrete symbol of rebirth, dignity, and hope.
Together, we can make a difference.
