Rita Leorato

At seven years old, I went to my mother and told her, “When I grow up, I will have an orphanage in Africa.” Life then took me to other places and contexts, but I never abandoned the fantastic world of volunteering. But in the end – whether by chance or destiny – life led me to an orphanage in Africa, in Burkina Faso to be precise, and from there another story began. Many old friends have accompanied me along the way, others have arrived, and meeting Bambini nel Deserto opened up even more new horizons.
