If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, let’s go together.

It is with this spirit that Bambini nel Deserto took part, for the second consecutive time, in Codeway 2025, Italy’s leading trade fair dedicated to cooperation and sustainable development, held at Fiera di Roma from May 14th to 16th. After the exciting 2024 experience with our Cinéma du Désert project – our traveling truck from the Trentino branch – this year we chose to bring into the spotlight another beating heart of our organization: African women’s craftsmanship.

The Bambini nel Deserto booth told stories of resilience and beauty, offering space and visibility to the creations of women from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Togo, Mozambique, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Thanks to the Dicobruma project, these women are slowly but determinedly freeing themselves from poverty through manual work, the revival of traditional knowledge, and the creation of solidarity networks. The entire exhibition space was built using recycled and recyclable materials, because for us, environmental impact is not a technical detail—it is a guiding principle, an ethical commitment that runs through every design and communication choice we make.

This edition of Codeway confirmed a positive evolution: more and more profit-oriented companies are approaching the world of cooperation with a renewed spirit. It’s no longer just about “doing business,” but about doing business with conscience, generating shared value. In this new context, NGOs like Bambini nel Deserto serve as an ideal bridge between local communities and enterprises, between social impact and economic sustainability. Because cooperation, when it is genuine, is never one-sided—it is a mutual growth journey.

NGOs are laboratories of social and relational innovation: strategic partners in building projects where people—not just numbers—are at the center.
Fairs like Codeway are not just showcases—they are crossroads of visions, platforms for dialogue, and generators of the future. While we wait for the 2026 edition, we will enthusiastically work to transform the connections and insights gathered into solid partnerships and concrete actions.

Because every encounter is a seed. And every seed, if nurtured with care, can grow into change.
