The Wells of Zinder Program is an initiative aimed at restoring and rehabilitating 20 previously abandoned water points in the Zinder region of Niger due to inadequate maintenance. These wells are crucial to ensure continuous and reliable access to drinking water in an area that has faced numerous challenges.
To date, the Wells of Zinder Program has initiated restoration efforts in 15 different locations by the end of 2022.
This commitment has represented a significant step towards improving the living conditions of local communities, providing them with an essential source of clean water. As the dry season approaches, it is crucial to continue with the well restoration work.
This area is characterized by significant tension due to terrorist attacks perpetrated by Islamic fundamentalists in recent years.
The presence of functioning water infrastructure not only improves the quality of life for people but also helps stabilize the region and reduce tensions related to water access.
Therefore, the Wells of Zinder Program plays a crucial role in promoting the security and well-being of local communities, as well as fostering stability in the region.
