The summer journey of Cinéma du Desert continues with screenings in the mountains and, in this case, for the mountains, as we await the fall and the return of Bambini nel Deserto Trentino to Africa.
In some areas of the Val di Non and Val di Fiemme, near the border between the provinces of Trento and Bolzano, the landscape features characteristics that distinguish it from those of intensive monoculture or abandonment, found in other mountain regions.
This is due to the work of farmers and breeders from both provinces, who have created a collaborative experience that is a source of pride for their communities, with socio-cultural meanings that transcend regional borders.

The film revisits the theme of “resilience” in the highlands, in this case based on livestock farming carried out using traditional methods and mechanization that remains “human-scale”. Thanks to the richness of mountain pastures, this allows for the production of a high-quality cheese like “Trentingrana”. Noteworthy is the choice to almost always interview couples. Finally, the theme of the border is highlighted, which exists politically but not in the minds of the people.
